Letter to My Younger Self

So you hear of people talking about what advice they would give to their younger self. At 21 I’m not exactly old enough or wise enough to give advice to 16-year-old me. So I thought about it. We all have wise words of wisdom for others, but I need advice for me at the present moment in time. The days when college is crap, or it’s raining, or I got out of the wrong side of the bed.

So here we go…

*read in an inspirational tone*

Have faith! Have faith that all your hard work will pay off. No hard work goes without reward. You just have to stand back and see the bigger picture.

Trust that everything will work out. You are stronger than you believe. You will survive anything life throws at you.

Do not fear the unknown. They say possession is nine-tenths of the law. And fear is nine-tenths of why you don’t do something. Feel the fear and do it anyway. What doesn’t kill you either makes you stronger or makes for a good story.

Some say a goal without a plan is just a wish – but you have to start somewhere. If you want to drink champagne, you gotta’ think champagne.

Don’t care about what other people think. Remember it’s their opinion, and what they think is none of your business. So don’t be rude!
